Mayte Hellenthal is a studied architect [B.Sc.] , with experience in several international design built projects with emphasis on participatory natural construction and social architecture. She is an autodidact in the craft of ceramics, woodwork and goldsmithing and has been working artistically with materials such as clay, textiles, stone, metal, plaster etc. 
Her studies in architecture and her versatile aesthetic interests and craftmen-ships have naturally led her to follow her passion of production design & scenography. In the most recent feature film „Ein schöner Ort“ by european film award winning filmmaker Katharina Huber, she has been the head scenographer,  production designer and art director, overseeing the budget and handling location scouting, stage building, as much as interior & exterior props.
